After a while without streaming, he took his time to adjust the equipment and computer settings when he started his broadcast.
When he finally looked up, he saw a flurry of comments flooding the screen. They scrolled by at a dizzying speed. He couldn’t help but lean closer and whisper, “Can you all slow down a bit? I can’t see clearly.”
Without beauty filters, the camera showed Tong Sui exceptionally clearly, delivering a strong visual impact. The comments only sped up:
— prprprpr
— Baby, so cute!!!
— Finally caught the live stream, baby, I missed you so much!!
— Is it just me, or does Sui’s mouth look really red and maybe a little swollen? Could it be from Chi Shen?
— Aren’t they roommates? Where’s Chi Shen? Don’t hide; we’re all friends here!
Tong Sui spotted the comment about his red lips and felt a bit guilty as he randomly clicked on the computer screen, “It’s okay, my lips have always looked like this.”
He clearly had some issues, as even his lies weren’t convincing enough to trick the viewers, who seemed to be scrutinizing him with magnifying glasses.
The comments kept teasing him:
— Who said Chi Shen kissed him? It was clearly me!!
— Everyone get lost; let me have a turn first!
— I don’t believe it unless I get a try!
Chi Xingyu was already feeling low, and seeing the viewers all calling him “baby” and other random things made him want to kick them all out in one go. It felt like tripping over on the street, unable to express his frustration, and being completely irked.
At that moment, Tong Sui glanced at the online viewers count in the top right corner and noticed the ID at the very front. “Chi Shen?”
After a long time without hearing Tong Sui call him that, Chi Xingyu felt a moment of haze, but the suffocating feeling dissipated instantly. Just seeing Tong Sui calmed all his discomfort.
Without hesitation, Chi Xingyu sent several gifts in the live stream, choosing [Love Letter], [Confession Balloon], and [Loves’ Melody], filling the screen with extravagant, pink gift effects.
The comments poured in with sarcasm:
— The single dogs just walked in and were instantly hit hard!
— Chi Xingyu, do you really need to flaunt your love like that?
— I might not be human, but you’re definitely a dog!!
— Looks like we don’t need midnight snacks tonight; we’re stuffed with dog food.
— As a cp fan, I’m too happy; it feels like a festival every day!
Tong Sui hastily turned off the gift-giving feature, “No need to send gifts; I just came up to play for a bit.”
He didn’t expect Chi Xingyu to notice him so quickly and tentatively asked, “Can I play games with you?”
Without hesitation, Chi Xingyu sat down and powered up his computer. Instead of starting the game right away, he sent Tong Sui an invitation to join.
As soon as the call connected, his slightly husky voice filled the stream, “Can you hear me?”
Tong Sui adjusted the tightness of his headphones, “Yes.”
It felt as if they had returned to their initial meeting. However, unlike the indifferent Chi Xingyu back then, once they started gaming, he asked Tong Sui for his opinion on things, even for map selection.
Since Tong Sui didn’t like combat weapons, Chi Xingyu discreetly chose locations with fewer players, and whenever he found supplies, he would present them to Tong Sui first, taking care of him.
The comments continued to joke:
— Is this what a gamer in love looks like?
— Chi: Compared to my wife, the game is nothing.
— How much do I need to pay to get a companion like this?
— With such an attitude, it’s no wonder he has a girlfriend.
Tong Sui wasn’t very skilled either; he had forgotten some of his gaming techniques after filming, feeling awkward about using the supply gun Chi Xingyu handed him.
“You can take it; I really don’t know how to use it.”
When he said he didn’t know how to use it, it wasn’t just modesty; he truly didn’t know. Without Chi Xingyu’s help, he would likely have been eliminated immediately.
Chi Xingyu said, “I picked it because I thought you’d like it; just throw it away if you don’t want it.”
Reluctantly, Tong Sui took the gun.
Unlike Tong Sui, Chi Xingyu was like a seasoned player; even without training for so long, his skills seemed engraved in muscle memory, capable of defeating opponents eyes closed.
Tong Sui initially thought he would just play a couple of rounds but ended up getting chicken dinners almost every game, enhancing their gaming experience.
After playing until his eyes were almost closing, Tong Sui finally couldn’t hang on any longer, “Let’s stop here for now; I’m going to sleep.”
Before he logged off, Chi Xingyu seized the opportunity to ask, “Can I come help you move tomorrow?”
Comments erupted:
— Moving???
— Are they really roommates?
— So the next step is doi, right?
— The person above, with the bigger room layout, maybe they already did it.
— Spread the word: Sui Bao and Chi Shen did it.
— Spread the word: Chi Shen is going to Sui Bao’s house tomorrow to do it.
The comments grew more absurd, but Tong Sui was too sleepy to care, murmuring an agreement before hastily logging off.
After the stream, Tong Sui practically fell onto his bed and fell asleep immediately.
Chi Xingyu also confirmed that Tong Sui wasn’t being sarcastic but genuinely wasn’t upset, before heading back to his room to wash up.
The next day.
When Tong Sui groggily received a call invitation on his phone, he struggled to reach for it.
He had slept later than usual yesterday, and his eyes felt heavy. Finally managing to answer the call, he heard Chi Xingyu’s voice.
“I’m at your door; can you open it?”
Why is it so early?
Tong Sui’s sleepiness faded slightly as he glanced at the time on his phone; it was already 10:30 in the morning. He just had a hard time waking up.
Struggling to rise from his bed, he rushed to open the door.
